Some good practice I learned

Now I know this site is about anatomy and all but ,in order for the anatomy to look right you need to learn how to see guesture.

Why? Well think about it,if you don’t have a good foundation then the details won’t hold up.Its the same with drawing the human figure. Having a good guesture is like having a good foundation. Once you have a good base then you can start adding the anatomy later.

With that being said a good way to practice guesture is doing quick two to one minute sketches of the whole human body. When doing gesture I always try to see the main flow of the pose. Be loose don’t worry about making everything look prefect. Just try to see everything as a whole instead of focusing all of your attention on one part of the pose. A good site for some references and will actually time you is “quicksketch”.

Also A lot of things I’m telling you here is said better by a YouTube channel called Proko. You might of already heard of him. You should check him out. He does awesome videos on the anatomy and guesture.
